What is Botox? Botox is an FDA approved injectable that temporarily relaxes the muscle. When injected into the muscle, Botox blocks the nerve signals to the muscle which makes the muscle difficult to contract. The most common purpose of this injection in the medical aesthetic industry is to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the forehead, "11's", and crow’s feet. Botox can also be used to treat various medical conditions including but not limited to severe migraines, excessive underarm sweating, and TMJ. The injection lasts roughly 3-4 months. Botox is measured in units, so it is not a one size fits all procedure. The stronger the muscle movement in the area that you wish to treat, your desired result, and your budget all play a role in the amount of units you will receive and the price of your treatment. Here at Raydiant Skin, we believe in aging gracefully. We start small and gradually build up units as needed. Our highly trained and educated nurse injectors will consult with you before your treatment to ensure that you two are on the same page. If you are looking to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Botox will provide you with noticeable change in as little as 5-7 days.
